It's been a while since my last post! Sorry, I'm new at this.
Soo . . .Wow! My last post was a little intense. It was slightly frustrating down here for a bit. However, I feel like there's light at the end of the tunnel because it just so happens that I have snagged myself a job! Not just any job either. I'll be an Assistant Store Manager for Lumber Liquidators! Yep AND this position parallels what I did at Menards. So I can confidently say that (in the words of my dad) it is my vocation because it's one that I actually enjoy and have successfully beaten the odds. Who knew that a 27 year old female with a bachelor of arts degree in communications (and a minor in psych mind you) would be a lumber and flooring expert?!! Life is insane lol. I was just telling John last night that my experience at Menards was sure bittersweet because it is LITERALLY my stepping stone into the working world. If it wasn't for them, I might be selling insurance or something lol. EWW! How depressing. Oh dear, sorry if I've hurt anyones feelings. I just haven't met a lot of happy insurance agents. Go figure.
Anyways, I hope everyone had a good Valentines Day. Speaking of, xoxoxox! John and I didn't do a thing. Well, I suppose you could say that we reminisced about last year but that was the extent of it. Oooo but wait I forgot to tell you that we did make a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and stayed up late drinking appletini's. That was pretty fun. Nothin' too romantic though. No big deal. I think our big fancy night will be as soon as I get my first pay check where we can plan to go to Ruths Chris Steak House and use our 100.00 gift card from Christmas! That'll be fun! I'm sure we can get appletini's there too lol!
Well this was fun. I enjoyed writing this post more than the last. I suppose it's a reflection of the lighter mood that has graced our life recently.
I also try to incorporate some French with each post, but tonight I don't have the energy. In earlier posts you'll have read that I haven't practiced the language since high school which was 9 years ago! So as I roll my eyes and chuckle about that, I'm going to sign off and say goodnight!
Hey~Congrats on finding a job, that's terrific! I knew you would eventually. Lumber and flooring--well if I need anything in regards to that I will for surely give you a jingle. Good ole V-Day, I just don't see the point in that day...a waste of money in my world. This post was better than the last in the sense of the mood, it's like life though--it's up and it's down--everyone experiences it. Good luck with your new job on first day whenever that is! You should have an appletini after that first day as celebration.
